Folio is built for shops whose products are better described than photographed. Newsreader sets the headlines in ink on paper-warm cream, Public Sans handles prices and labels, and a ballpoint-blue accent runs through the whole thing. The layout borrows from print: numbered section eyebrows, a scrolling announcement marquee, generous reading measures, and colour-blocked covers that stand in wherever a product has no image.

That last part matters. Every template renders properly on an empty store — the hero window display, staff-picks rail and shelf index all fall back to demo books, so you can see the design before you have a catalogue.

You get 24 Online Store 2.0 sections across 18 JSON templates: home, product, collection, search, cart, blog, article, pages, contact, 404, password, gift card, and the full customer account set. Almost every line of copy is a theme setting — headings, eyebrows, buttons, empty states, the shipping note, the bookseller's signature — so the voice is yours without touching Liquid.

Under the hood it stays light: one stylesheet, one 173-line JavaScript file, no frameworks or jQuery. Quick add, the variant picker and the cover gallery are progressive enhancements — with JavaScript off, everything still works as plain forms and links.
